WRITER'S RETREAT
This project was an interesting and unique opportunity to design a whole space just using hand sketches. We were challenged to create a writer's retreat, where writers could go to isolate themselves to help with their creative process.

As this space was supposed to be a retreat to help writers get in touch with their creativity, my goal was to create a place where they could escape from reality.
The location of the site is a rural farm space in Iowa, in the middle of nature. Therefore, I had the idea of using mushrooms as one of the inspirations for this project.
Mushrooms are usually associated with fairies, enchanted forests, and fairy tales, which makes people explore their imagination to create different scenarios and bring stories alive. This was exactly what I wanted the writer that comes into this space to feel.
I also used some elements located in the site as inspiration for the exterior shape and distribution of the space.
